We wildcraft the herbs that grow prolific and wild here in the Missouri Ozarks on our “beyond organic” farm. Herbs like:
Rose Hips for Vitamin C, carotenoids, and Omega 6; Wild Carrot rich in Carotene and Vitamin A; and Coriander from our gardens for Vitamin C and its anti-bacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
The herbs are infused for 6 weeks into non-pore clogging and soothing sunflower seed oil. Sunflower seed lecithin is added to pull moisture under the skin. Finally, they are blended to perfection with shea butter to regenerate worn skin cells and support elasticity.
Commercial cosmetic manufacturers use emulsifiers and preservatives to keep this stagnant water mixed into the oil. They add cheap, toxic fillers like propylene glycol, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic dyes and fragrances, PEGs, and silicone. These are ingredients that can cause eczema and other skin problems, including cancer.
“eWax” is a seemingly harmless ingredient name and used as a lotion emulsifier, even in “natural” creams and lotions. eWax is NOT healthy and made by treating a wax material, such as vegetable or petroleum-based wax, with a detergent to bind oils and water. They are often made from blends of Cetearyl Alcohol and Glyceryl Stearate, and can also contain other emulsifiers like Polysorbate 60. We will NEVER use this!
I asked myself what did our ancestors do? They used organic herbs, oils, and butters or fats, so they didn't NEED the fillers. This blend is naturally shelf-stable because there is no water to separate or mold.
We take organically grown and wild harvested herbs and infuse them in oil for 6 weeks. Some of our formulas use sunflower seed oil and castor oil in others. These oils won’t clog pores and castor oil is a powerhouse in it’s own right. The jars are turned daily to maximize the extraction process.
Applying oils directly to the skin can be a messy process. So our grandparents learned to take healing wax and create salves. We get raw wax from neighboring bee keepers and clean it on the wood stove in the winter. I then make my own wax chips to add to the salves.
Most salve makers use wax pastilles which are over processed and imported from China or Poland. The color can best be described as anemic. Some We keep life in our products.
The word salve comes from the Latin verb salvere, meaning 'to be well'.
For thousands of years, people used oil, not soap to clean their face. Facial cleansing oils work because "like attracts like" or "like dissolves like". Facial Cleanse dissolves oil or makeup without stripping, drying, irritating your skin or altering your own natural pH. Discover a dramatic difference in the softness, health, and glow of your skin.
This is formulated using oils that will not clog pores. You simply rub in and wipe off. Our facial cleanse is crafted with wild rose petals to cool and soothe and yarrow to help kill bacteria that causes cystic acne. The smell is pure rose.
This can also be used as a face serum in place of face cream or butter. It can also be used in the hair to tone down frizz.
